At a Special Board Meeting held on Tuesday, January 26, 2010, the Board of Education of the Millstadt Community Consolidated School District #160, accepted Superintendent Allen Scharf’s resignation with extreme regrets effective June 30, 2010.

Debra Curtis is resigning from the Board of Education, effective February 1, 2010. We would like to thank Al and Deb for their dedication and countless contributions to the District.

You keep your profits, and table rental fees benefit the 8th grade trip!

lBring your used goods (clothing, toys, electronics, baby items, etc.) and set up your rummage sale.

lItems must fit on or under your table(s).

lTable renter responsible for personal change drawer and must take any leftover items with you at end of sale.

lSale set-up starting at 6:30 am & clean-up completed by 3:00 pm.

lTable rental fee must be paid by March 11.

Dear Friend,

The PTA for Millstadt Community Consolidated School will host our annual dinner auction on Saturday, March 20, 2010. A sell-out crowd of almost 500 attendees is expected. Money raised in the past has been spent on cultural field trips and assemblies, playground equipment, art and computer programs, the DARE program, book fairs, family-oriented events, and many other worthwhile causes.

We are very proud to say Millstadt Elementary ranks first on the Illinois State Board of Education’s list of highest-scoring schools in St. Clair County with 95.2% of our students meeting or exceeding state standards. With your help, we can continue to provide the “extras” to supplement our educational curriculum to continue this success. There are a variety of ways to help and all donors will be acknowledged at our event.

Sponsorships – You can become a sponsor by making a contribution at the following levels:

Platinum – $1,000 and higher: Platinum sponsors will be highlighted in the evening’s program book and will receive two admissions to attend the event.

Gold – $500 to $999: Gold sponsors will be recognized in the evening’s program book.

Silver – $250 to $499: Silver sponsors will be recognized in the evening’s program book.

Bronze – $125 to $249: Bronze sponsors will be recognized in the evening’s program book.

Donations – As an alternative to sponsorships, we welcome any donations in the form of gift certificates, products, and/or services. There will be a live auction, silent auction, and raffle so anything your company can contribute would be greatly appreciated. Donated items will be tastefully displayed for bid and provide excellent marketing exposure for your organization.

Advertising – There is also an opportunity to purchase advertising space in the program book. Advertising costs are: $25 for business card size, $35 for ¼-page, $55 for ½-page, and $100 for full page. Please send the format (i.e. business card, company letterhead, or current ad) as it should appear in the program book. Your tax-deductible contributions for advertising or sponsorships can be made payable to MCS PTA Auction. Please mail all donations to the address listed above, Attention – MCS PTA Auction. Or, you may call me to make other arrangements. Especially in today’s economy, we sincerely appreciate any contribution your organization can make towards this worthy event. With your help, the PTA can continue to support our students in the best ways possible. Thank you for your time and generosity.

St. James School

SPEECH MEET

On February 13, St. James hosted the Middle Speech Meet for the Waterloo/Columbia area. As the hosting school, many hours went into preparing for the competition. Thank you to the teachers for preparing their classrooms for the meet. 

Thank you to Mrs. Scherle, Mrs. Kenetski and Sister Marilyn for the time they spent preparing students for the event and their work during the meet. 

Participating schools included St. Agatha, Immaculate Conception, St. Johns, Redbud, St. Johns, Smithton, Saints Peter and Paul, and St. James.
